I began with a number of quick gesture sketches to establish the pose I would use for this painting. And I thought it would be interesting to show a photo here of the sketch I liked best. I’ve always enjoyed painting and sketching the figure and I was pleased with this particular painting.

I'm also showing the initial stage of the monochromatic block-in as I began the actual painting. I felt it may be interesting for other artists to see how this one began. Enjoy! This painting is one of a kind, and when it's gone, it's gone!  Don't let this one get away!
